Hazbin Hotel Early Access

12th of january 2024

this is spoiler free

The early access is out. I didn't know this is going to be a thing until today. EA for a television series... what a world to live in. Anyway it consists of the first two of the eight episodes and a Q&A with Vivienne (creator) and Sam (composer). It costs $6,69 on A24's platform and i don't know if the rest of the season is coming to the platform, or if it is prime only.

Yes i bought it, even though it is EA and might only be two episodes. I wanted to show support and the A24 platform does not suck much, as it allows you to just buy this one thing standalone, instead of some subscription. No matter if the season is going to be on the platform, i will not pay any more to watch the rest. I will watch it one way or another.

About the actual episoed then. The speed of the episodes is barely slower than the pilot, which is still break-neck speed and there is a lot more going on than in the pilot. This makes me think that there won't be many slower moments, that could have emotional impacts.

My two biggest wishes for the show were that it would be slower, or at least have slower moments and that it would make the most out of its setting. Helluva Boss, does not use the setting very well. Things look interesting, as it is in hell, but things are too similar to the hell we already live in. I think this is what Helluva Boss is going for, but i still would prefer if the setting mattered more. In Hazbin Hotel the setting has a greater influence, which is caused by the overaching plot needing it to be this way. However how much everything else is influenced by the setting is to be seen.

The show is fun so far and i want to see more of it. I don't think i will write more about it, as i didn't even have much to say for this.
